About Winterhaven Public Events
Winterhaven Public Events (WPE) is a public benefit non-profit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. WPE raises funds through two annual events. These funds are distributed to designated charities in the Tucson community.
The Winterhaven Festival of Lights transforms a central Tucson neighborhood into a winter wonderland of holiday lights, decorations, and magic. This Festival began in 1950 and each year approximately 100,000 visitors stroll, ride a haywagon or drive through the streets of Winterhaven. Donations of money and food are collected for the Community Food Bank.
The Winterhaven Fourth of July Parade is held every year on July 4th in the Winterhaven neighborhood. Participants parade through the streets of Winterhaven by walking, riding a bike or a scooter, often lead by bagpipers and other musicians. Afterwards, a pancake breakfast is served. Donations are accepted and donated to a designated charity.
